FAQ’s for Therapy Services

Do You Accept Insurance and/or Medicaid?

Yes, I do accept commerical insurance for therapy services. I’m in network with Kaiser Permanente, Cigna, Aetna, and United Health Care (UHC). I’m not paneled with Medicaid; therefore, I don’t accept Medicaid. Spiritual services are not convered under insurance.

What Can I Expect For My First Appointment?

Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another. We’ll explore what brings you to therapy, discuss your personal history, and talk about the challenges, strengths, and goals that are most important to you. Just as importantly, it’s a chance to see if we feel like a good fit. Building a trusting, collaborative relationship is one of the most important parts of the healing process.

How Long Are Sessions & What’s the Frequency?

Individual therapy sessions are typically 45–60 minutes, depending on your needs and the services being provided.

While everyone’s journey is different, I generally recommend meeting weekly at the beginning of therapy. Consistent sessions help us build momentum, develop new skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. As you continue to grow and feel more confident, we’ll regularly revisit your goals together and adjust the frequency of sessions to best support your needs.

How Do I Know if a Therapist Is the Right Fit?

Finding the right therapist is one of the most important parts of the healing process. While experience and specialized training matter, the quality of the therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of meaningful change.

It’s important that you feel safe, respected, heard, and able to be your authentic self. Therapy should feel like a collaborative partnership where your feedback is welcomed and your goals help guide the process.

After a few sessions, take time to reflect on how you feel. Do you feel understood? Supported? Challenged in ways that promote growth? If the answer is no, it’s okay to explore other options. Every therapist has a different style, and finding the right fit is an important part of your healing journey.

What Are the Benefits of Therapy?

Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and better understand yourself. Together, we’ll explore the thoughts, emotions, experiences, and patterns that may be contributing to your current challenges, while building on your strengths and resilience.

Many people come to therapy hoping to reduce anxiety, depression, or the effects of trauma. Others are seeking healthier relationships, greater self-confidence, more effective communication, or a stronger sense of purpose and direction. Therapy can also help you reconnect with parts of yourself that may have felt lost, disconnected, or overlooked.

My goal isn’t to “fix” you—it’s to support you in developing the insight, skills, and confidence to create meaningful, lasting change. Because every person’s story is unique, therapy is tailored to your individual goals, values, and needs.

While everyone’s experience is different, therapy may help you:

-Better understand yourself and your patterns

-Heal from trauma and difficult life experiences

-Reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress

-Build healthier relationships and communication skills

-Increase self-confidence, self-compassion, and emotional resilience

-Navigate life transitions with greater clarity and confidence

-Develop practical tools to cope with life’s challenges

-Live more authentically and in alignment with your values

Ultimately, therapy is about creating a life that feels more grounded, connected, and meaningful—one that reflects who you are and who you’re becoming.

FAQ’s for Spiritual Services

What Is Ancestral Medicine?

Ancestral medicine is the practice of reconnecting with the wisdom, traditions, and experiences of those who came before us. It honors the belief that our wellbeing is connected to our lineage and that healing ourselves can also help heal patterns carried across generations.

People connect with their ancestors in many ways, including prayer, meditation, ritual, ceremony, and cultural traditions. These practices create space to honor the strengths, struggles, and resilience of our ancestors while fostering healing, belonging, and personal growth.

Types of Curanderos(as)

Curanderismo includes many healing traditions, each with its own area of focus:

Yerbera – Works with medicinal plants and herbal remedies.

Sobadora – Uses therapeutic touch and massage to restore balance.

Espiritista – Connects with spirits and ancestors for guidance and healing.

Partera – Traditional midwife supporting pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care.

Huesero/a – Specializes in bones, muscles, and physical alignment.

Other traditions include Tabaqueros, who use tobacco as sacred medicine, and Ayahuasqueros, who facilitate ceremonial healing with ayahuasca.

While each tradition is rooted in its own culture and community, they share a common belief: healing the lineage supports healing the individual.

How Does Ancestral Medicine Support Healing?

Many ancestral healing traditions teach that the experiences of previous generations can shape our lives today. Modern research in epigenetics also suggests that the effects of stress and trauma may be passed across generations. Ancestral medicine invites us to recognize these inherited patterns with compassion and transform them into resilience, healing, and connection.

Common Practices

Ancestral medicine may include:

-Prayer and rituals

-Meditation and trance work

-Drumming, singing, and traditional music

-Family constellation therapy

-Cultural ceremonies and ancestral traditions

Each practice is rooted in the unique culture, values, and lineage from which it comes.

At its core, ancestral medicine reminds us that we are part of a living lineage. By honoring the past and healing in the present, we create space for healing, resilience, and wellbeing for ourselves and future generations.

What is a Curandero(a)?

Curandero(a) is a traditional healer who works to restore balance between the body, mind, spirit, and the natural world. Derived from the Spanish word curar (“to heal”), Curanderismo is a holistic healing tradition that draws upon herbal medicine, spiritual practices, prayer, ritual, and ancestral wisdom.

Rooted in Indigenous traditions and shaped by African and European influences, Curanderismo has been passed down through generations across Latin America. Each Curandero(a) develops their own unique practice based on their training, community, culture, and lived experience.

More than treating illness, Curanderismo emphasizes caring for the whole person—honoring the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, spiritual, and communal wellbeing.

At its heart, Curanderismo reminds us that healing ourselves also strengthens our families, communities, and our relationship with the earth.

What is Egg Cleanse & Smudging?

An egg cleanse, or limpia con huevo, is a traditional healing practice found in many Mexican and Latin American folk healing traditions. It is believed to help clear stagnant or negative energy while promoting spiritual, emotional, and energetic balance.

During a limpia, a Curandero(a) gently passes an egg over the body while offering prayers or intentions. The egg is then cracked into water and interpreted as part of the healing process, offering insight into areas that may benefit from reflection, healing, or spiritual care.

Smudging is a ceremonial practice used by some Indigenous peoples of the Americas to support purification, protection, and spiritual connection through the burning of sacred plants or resins. The herbs used, their meanings, and the ways they are gathered and burned vary widely among Indigenous cultures.

Because these practices are sacred, they are traditionally carried out with respect for cultural protocols, community teachings, and the natural world. Honoring the origins of these traditions includes recognizing the diversity of Indigenous knowledge and the importance of harvesting sacred plants responsibly.

What is a Spiritual Oracle?

A Spiritual Oracle is someone who seeks insight through spiritual practices such as meditation, ritual, prayer, dream work, symbolism, or divination. Across many ancient traditions, oracles have been viewed as guides who help people reflect on their lives, gain clarity, and reconnect with their intuition and sense of purpose.

Rather than claiming to predict the future, a Spiritual Oracle offers perspective, guidance, and space for deeper self-reflection. The focus is on helping individuals explore their inner wisdom, recognize patterns, and make choices that feel aligned with their values and spiritual path.

At its core, the role of a Spiritual Oracle is to support insight, self-awareness, and meaningful connection to oneself, others, and the sacred traditions from which these practices originate.

*Important Disclaimer

As an Oracle/Medium, I do not claim to predict the future, tell fortunes, or possess supernatural powers. My role is to listen, hold space, and offer spiritual guidance through what I understand to be communication with ancestors, spirit guides, and the beloved dead, always with the intention of supporting healing, insight, and the highest good.

I do not practice black magic, baneful magic, sorcery, or other forms of harmful spiritual work. My approach is rooted in compassion, integrity, respect, and service. My intention is to guide, support, teach, and facilitate healing while honoring each person’s unique spiritual journey.
